Michael Browning receives highly esteemed Whistler Award

Michael G. Browning is President and Chairman of the Board of Browning Investments, Inc., which specializes in commercial real estate and property development.  As a volunteer, Mr. Browning has served on the executive committees of the Indiana Sports Corporation, Indiana Convention and Visitors Association, Indy Partnership Inc., and Indianapolis Urban League.  He was instrumental in the development of the Pan Am Plaza in downtown Indianapolis, and was chairman of the Indiana Sports Corporation Board of Directors from 1988 until 1993.

Mr. Browning serves on the Super Bowl 2012 Business Advisory Council, the Graduate School Advisory Council at the University of Notre Dame, and the State of Indiana’s Public Officers Compensation Commission. He also chaired Cathedral High School’s $12 million capital campaign from 2001-2003 and the Indianapolis Museum of Art’s 1989 General Fund Campaign.  He has served as a trustee for the  Educational Choice  Charitable Trust, and on the boards of the Indianapolis Regional Economic Development Partnership, U.S. RCA Tennis Championships, and Indiana Golf Foundation. He is an honorary member of the Board of Directors for the Special Olympics in Indiana. Mr. Browning has received an Honorary Doctor of Humane Exchange from Martin University and an Honorary Doctor of Humanities from Marian University.

At Crooked Stick Golf Club, Mr. Browning served as general chairman of the 1991 PGA Championship, as Chairman of Marketing for the 1993 U.S. Women’s Open Championship, as Chairman of the 2005 Solheim Cup, as Chairman of the Dye Cup, and as a PGA tour liaison.
