Q&A with Firefly Children and Family Alliance
Indianapolis is home to a rich tapestry of organizations from the nonprofit sector. To speak on our city’s youth development programs, we interviewed Tina Cloer, President and CEO of Firefly Children and Family Alliance and GIPC Member Representative. Formed from a nearly two centuries-long history of service to the community, Firefly empowers Hoosiers through a wide range of support programs and resources designed to give parents, children, and individuals everything they need to live successfully.

Tell us more about you!
As one of Indiana’s oldest nonprofits, Firefly Children and Family Alliance has a long history of serving the state’s most vulnerable populations. Our work has three pillars: strengthening families, empowering youth and young adults, and promoting well-being. Through each of these program areas, we seek to give Hoosiers what they need to live successfully.

How can GIPC members support Firefly?
There are a number of ways you can support Firefly’s work. We appreciate monetary donations of any size. We also accept donations of new clothing (adult and youth), hygiene items, diapers, new toys, and more. In addition to donations, we happily host individual or group volunteer experiences at our Family Support Center. Visit fireflyin.org/support to learn more.
Anything else you would like to add?
In April, we recognize Child Abuse Prevention Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Each serves to shine light on two types of important work we do: keeping kids safe and supporting survivors. Join us for events and awareness days throughout the month to show support for those who need us most.
