INDIANAPOLIS – The Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Laurel Judkins as its new Executive Director, effective February 9, 2026. With over two decades of experience and leadership in both the public and private sectors, Judkins is poised to build on GIPC’s legacy of collaboration with public- and private-sector leaders to advance critical city initiatives and to lead GIPC into a new era of growth and innovation.

“On behalf of the Board, we are thrilled to welcome Laurel to our team,” said Heather Wilson, Board Chair of GIPC. “Her passion for our city, combined with her deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face, makes her the perfect fit for this role. We are confident that her leadership will help propel GIPC toward exciting new horizons.”

Judkins joins GIPC with an established track record of public service and impactful roles with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) and Cummins Inc., where she led executive communications and global brand. Prior to Cummins, she served as Chief Counsel to Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry, Director of Elections for the Marion County Election Board and Assistant Corporate Counsel for the City of Indianapolis.

“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to lead GIPC and to work alongside the organization’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, and our vibrant civic and business communities. Together, we will drive initiatives that not only advance our city but also enhance the lives of its citizens,” said Judkins.

A dedicated community leader, Judkins has served on the boards of several civic and nonprofit organizations, including current positions with Exodus Refugee, the Indiana Writers Center, and PATTERN. Her contributions have earned her recognition as a “Forty Under 40” leader by the Indianapolis Business Journal. She is a proud graduate of Indiana University and the Indiana University Maurer School of Law.
