Strategic Planning Consultant for Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC)

Overview
The Greater Indianapolis Progress Committee (GIPC) is a nonprofit organization that brings together leaders from business, government, and the community to address issues critical to Indianapolis’ growth and quality of life. GIPC seeks proposals from experienced consultants to facilitate the development of a new strategic plan that will guide our work and impact over the next 3–5 years.

Scope of Work
The selected consultant will: 

  • Design and lead an inclusive, collaborative and streamlined strategic planning process. 
  • Engage GIPC’s board, staff, and stakeholders through interviews, surveys, and facilitated sessions. 
  • Assess organizational strengths, challenges, and opportunities within the context of our mission and membership model. 
  • Incorporate into the planning process existing GIPC initiatives, including the Race and Cultural Relations Leadership Network and the Mayor’s Leadership Council on Homelessness.  
  • Deliver a clear, actionable strategic plan with defined goals, objectives, and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning for nonprofit and/or membership organizations. 
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills. 
  • Familiarity with GIPC, civic engagement or public-private partnerships preferred.

Timeline 

  • RFP Release: Monday, February 23, 2026 
  • Proposal Deadline: Monday, March 16, 2026 
  • Consultant Selection: Monday, April 20, 2026 (approx. date) 
  • Project Completion: late Q3, 2026
